Summer movies at the Toby Theatre

I have the great privilege of living really close to the mountains in Canada.  Most mornings I can look out my bedroom window and see the outline of the Rocky Mountains off in the distance.  It is a beautiful scene and one that has been routine way too many times.

My parents, a few years ago, purchased a condo unit in a sleepy mountain town called Radium Hot Springs.  It is about a 2 1/2 hr drive from Calgary and affords my family the opportunity to get away from the rush in Calgary and just enjoy the peace and tranquility of the mountains.  It is really a blessing for my family and there have been many family memories that have been built around our times in Radium.

Down the road, about 8 miles is a larger town named Invermere.  There is some small town shoppings, some trinket stores, a toy store and a 200 seat movie theatre that affords a movie goer an experience in watching a movie.  There are “love” seats in the theatre where you can snuggle up to your special friend as well decor that would be hard to describe.  The theatre is called The Toby Theatre and it is located right in the center of the town.

A few weeks ago, they were showing Evan Almighty and it was the second time that my family was able to watch the movie.  It is a great movie (not as funny as I thought it would be) but a movie with a some very powerful images of what our relationship with God could be.

This morning, I am reminded of a great truth that is carried throughout the movie.  Evan is asking God why God has given him such a big and hard work in building the ark.  God says to him that, “whatever He chooses to do, He does because He loves that person.”

So, today as I am praying for you, some of my friends in ministry who are going through some tough stuff in ministry, please know (and be reminded of) that God loves you today and is right there with you.

Thanks Toby Theatre!
