On the way to Woodlands, TX

As I write this, I am on a plane to Woodlands, TX.  Don’t worry, I didn’t where Woodlands, TX was either until I was told that it is just outside of Houston, TX.

In Calgary, Canada today where I am from, it was –2 degrees Celsius.  (Let me help you out — it was around 28F with snow falling)  In Houston, TX today, it was 29 degrees Celsius (84F) so I am looking forward to seeing the blessing of a warmer climate

In a few minutes, my Air Canada (CRJ 705 – little plane) will be landing at George Bush International Airport.  The last time that I was at IAH, my plane was delayed 24 hours and my baggage was stolen so this time I am carrying my own baggage with me.

Anyways, I have the great privilege of facilitating an Enroute experience at a church called Stonebridge Church.  Brian is going to host a great group of volunteers and paid staff from his local network.

Normally, we don’t do midweek training events so I am excited to see this group of individuals who are committed time out of their busy work week to hear how they can partner in the mission of God on earth as well as serve their students well.

It is such a humbling experience to spend time with volunteers who are willing to use holiday time to serve the students that God brings into our groups.  If you are one of those volunteers, who take holidays to get more training or who use holidays to go on student missions trips, please know that we at Sonlife appreciate the sacrifices that you make.
