What a Great Day…

We had a great day in Kansas City yesterday! I met some really wonderful people who are really working hard to help students in their church and community find and follow Jesus.

We had a great series of conversations throughout the day and I learned a ton from all of the people who attended. It was really great to meet Philip and his wife. They live in Missouri and just got married 4 months ago. Philip works at a sports apparel store during the days and then the rest of his time is spent with his wife ministering to the students in his church. Phillip had some great insights on culture and the necessity of using story as a means of connecting students to God.

There was also a guy named Mark there who had some great questions and some incredible insights on Jesus’ life and mission. Thanks Mark for sharing your wisdom with the group!

The folks from Christ Community Church were terrific hosts. Thanks Jim and Becky for opening up your church and going out of your way to make people feel welcomed. I appreciate partnering with you to help encourage and equip youth workers!

One Response to “What a Great Day…”

  1. Hey.
Have loved and used Sonlife materials to train myself and my leaders for about 20 years. Just started a ministry here in the norfolk/Virginia Beach area to equip churches to reach and retain the next generation. It’s called the UpStream Project. Basically trying to turn the hearts of the church fathers to the children and young folks per Malachi 4 and reverse the trend of young people leaving the church by the time they are 25.
Coaching pastors and youth pastors on how to grow their ministries. Rather than having a few churches reaching young people well, i hope to inspire churches across the region to reach them, raising the whole tide instead of just a few big splashes across the region. Wanted to connect and network with you guys. Any resources I need to be aware of? Anyone else doing a regional ministry model helping lots of churches?
